How to Make Everything Bagel Bites

  1. Make the dough - In a microwave safe bowl, mix your cheeses and heat for one minute. Mix well. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, eggs, and baking soda. Combine both bowls. Mix well.
  2. Make the bagels - With some olive oil on your hands, roll the dough into one-inch balls. Place them on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper and non-stick spray about a half inch apart. Press the middle of the balls with your fingers to flatten them out a bit.
  3. Bake - Bake the bagels at 375 degrees for twelve to fifteen minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy!

Tips and Variations

  • Storage - You’ll want to store these everything bagels in an airtight sealed bag in the pantry (cool and dry). These can be frozen for up to 2 months in a baggie as well.
  • Reheating - When reheating from the freezer, let the bagel bites thaw on their own and then heat them for a few seconds in the microwave. Don’t overheat or they will be very chewy and hard to eat.
  • Garnish ideas - These keto bagels can be topped with countless, delicious options. I like to add cream cheese and avocado to mine, but you could even add sliced cheese, cold cuts, keto-friendly dips, etc.
  • Eat them toasted - Since these are so small, I wouldn’t suggest using a toaster. However, you can use an air fryer, toaster oven, or even the oven. It will only take a minute or two to toast these up.
  • Make them plain - Skip adding the everything bagel seasoning and just make them plain.
  • Turn them into mini sandwiches for tea - I mentioned above that you can add cold cuts to these. You could also add chicken salad or tuna salad to them to make tea sandwiches!

Common Questions About Everything Bagel Bites

Why Do They Call it an Everything Bagel?

There is a really cool story to this. The creator of the everything bagel was wrapping up his shop for the night. Usually, they throw out the food to start fresh, but instead there was a stroke of genius.

The bagels were paired with all the toppings of the store and marketed as an everything bagel the next day. History knows the rest!

Is Eating a Bagel Everyday Bad?

An average bagel is usually brimming with carbs and sugars, which aren’t the best things when looking at health factors. Plus, many people add ingredients on top of their bagel, with many of those only adding to the negative side of health.

While I don’t think eating a bagel every day is the worst health choice to make, it’s definitely not the best. That’s why I like to whip these bagels up and eat them instead. No guilt, carbs, or sugar to stress over.
